You don't. Truly. I specialize in candid, natural moments, which means my job is to make posing feel like you're just... doing stuff. Talking to your partner. Walking. Laughing at something. I'll give you gentle direction when it helps, but I'm not the "chin down, hand on hip, now smize" type. You'll look like yourself, which is the whole point.

For weddings, the sooner the better. Popular dates (especially summer and fall weekends) can book up 6–12 months out. For portrait sessions, a few weeks of lead time usually does the trick. When in doubt, reach out! I'll let you know what's available.

I'm based in Minneapolis and available across the Midwest. I also make regular trips to Atlanta. If your event is outside those areas, let's talk! Travel is absolutely possible and I'll be upfront about any associated costs.

It means you won't receive 900 near-identical photos of the same moment. I hand-select the best images from your session and edit them in my signature true-to-life color style — warm, natural, and timeless. No heavy filters, no orange skin, no making everything look like it was shot in a dream sequence. Just your real day, looking its best.

I'll give you a specific turnaround timeline when we book because it varies by session type. Portrait sessions are faster than full wedding galleries for obvious reasons (math). Weddings typically take 4-6 weeks and shorter sessions 2-3. Either way, I'll keep you in the loop so you're not just refreshing your inbox for weeks wondering. Plus a few days post event, you’ll get some sneak peeks to tide you over.

Then we'll make it work, and honestly, some of the most beautiful photos I've ever taken have been in moody, overcast light. Rain isn't a disaster; it's atmosphere. I'll help you adjust the timeline as needed and we'll figure it out together.

Full day coverage includes an engagement session, a custom timeline I'll help you build, open communication throughout the planning process, and your final gallery delivered in an easy-to-download format. Half day coverage includes everything except the engagement session. Both packages come with me, which I'd like to think is worth something :)
